SUMMARY:The Weight of What We Witness
DESCRIPTION:Some of us carry stories that were never ours.\nIf our work put
s us near other people on their worst days\, we are absorbing something. It
gathers quietly\, and it rarely announces itself as harm.\nIt shows up as
numbness\, as cynicism\, as dreading a particular file\, as a short fuse at
home\, as not wanting to hear one more thing.\nIn this two hour Practice S
ession we look at what it means to witness as part of our work\, and what t
hat asks of us across years rather than weeks.\nWhat we will look at\n\nThe
difference between burnout and the weight of repeated exposure\nWhat accum
ulates when we listen to hard things for a living\nThe signals we are train
ed to ignore in ourselves\nWhat organizations usually offer\, and why it so
often misses\nPractices that actually set some of the weight down\nHow a t
eam can carry this together instead of each person carrying it alone\n\nWho
this is for\nAnyone whose work puts them close to other people. Leaders\,
HR and labour relations teams\, union representatives\, advocates\, educato
rs\, and people working in health\, justice and community services. You do
 not need a title to come.\nDetails\n\nDate: Friday\, November 27\, 2026\nTi
